Accurate leaker @OnLeaks, in collaboration with Smartprix, recently unveiled the first look at the Pixel 8 Pro, showcasing high-resolution renders, a 360-degree video, and dimensions.
Let's dive into the exciting details of this upcoming device
Sleek and Rounded Design for the Pixel 8 Pro
The leaked renders of the Pixel 8 Pro reveal a more refined, curved design compared to its predecessors. Additionally, the camera module has been significantly redesigned, combining all three lenses into a single oval cutout. A mysterious new sensor has been added below the flash, which could potentially be a macro or depth sensor, or even an entirely new sensor we have yet to anticipate.
Highly-Requested Flat Display
Pixel smartphone enthusiasts have long called for the Pro line's display to match that of the regular non-Pro models by featuring a flat design instead of a curved one like on the Pixel 7 Pro. The leaks indicate that the Pixel 8 Pro will indeed have a flat 6.52-inch display, a welcome change that may persuade users to choose the Pixel 8 Pro over the regular Pixel 8, or vice versa for those preferring a smaller device without sacrificing Pro features.
Centered Punch-Hole Selfie Camera and Compact Design
The renders also display a centrally located punch-hole selfie camera and a device thickness of approximately 12 millimeters when including the camera bump. The overall dimensions of the device are said to be 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.7 mm, with adjusted screen dimensions for rounded edges, resulting in a notably smaller footprint.
Enhanced Camera Module and Additional Sensor
The Pixel 8 Pro's camera section has received a major facelift, with all three lenses now incorporated into a single rectangular layout. The purpose of the new sensor, situated just below the flash, remains unknown. It could be a unique sensor or a more conventional macro or depth sensor.
USB Type-C Port, Speakers, and Other Features
The bottom edge of the device houses the USB Type-C port and speakers, while the top edge remains empty. Other than the Google logo on the rear, the power button and volume rocker are situated on the right side, with the SIM card slot located on the left side.
Advanced Components for the Pixel 8 Pro
Google Tensor G3 SoC: The Heart of the New Pixel Lineup
As with the previous generation, the new Pixel lineup will feature a new generation of Google Tensor SoC, complemented by other high-end components. The upcoming Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to be equipped with the Google Tensor G3 chipset, which is allegedly based on the yet-to-be-announced Samsung Exynos 2300 CPU and employs Samsung's 3nm node technology. The existing Tensor G2 chipset is built on 5nm technology; therefore, upgrading to the Tensor G3 chipset may enhance performance while reducing power consumption.
